Hawthorne Public School honours and respects that the land we live, learn, play and work on is the traditional, unceded and unsurrendered land of the Algonquin Anishinabeg.
Our school community lives our understanding of what this acknowledgement
means through our words and actions in order to fulfill our responsibility to
live on this land in a good way.
We action the TRC Recommendations of 2015 pertaining to education through a variety of ways including providing authentic and culturally relevant and responsive learning experiences; learning about, respecting, and honouring Treaty relationships; and empowering and supporting parents to fully participate in the education of their children in ways that work best for them, with them. We welcome inquiries and dialogue with you around ways in which we can deepen our actions and commitments.
